1907/12/14 ~ GER37 ~ Anna Luella (Kapferer) Cyr
Mrs. Joseph W. Cyr, formerly Miss Anna Kapferer, died this morning at 9:15 o'clock at St. Charles hospital, aged nearly thirty-three years, having been born January 24, 1875.
Death came as relief after many months of suffering. More than a year ago Jospeh W. Cyr, husband of the deceased, was made master mechanic at Hannibal, Mo., but Mrs. Cyr, whose health began to brake, spent but a few days in Hannibal.
She was brought to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kapferer, 172 Fourth street, where she remained until four months ago, when she was taken to the hospital.
Three children are left motherless, Walter, Marie and Gertrude. Deceased was a sister of Mrs. William Greenway and Mrs. John Pollock of Aurora.
The news of the death of Mrs. Cyr was received with deep sadness by a wide circle of friends. Before her marriage she was more than ordinarily successful in the business world, not a little of this success being due to her bright, sunshiny nature. She was employed in the millinery department of the old Hanna & Scott firm, with the firm of John McMillan and later with Wade, Leitz & Grometer.
Socially she was one of the most charming girls who ever lived in the city and many expressions of sympathy for the suffering were heard during the weary months of her illness.
The funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock from St. Mary's church and will be private. Burial will be made in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
