Henry ALBITZ was born in Baden, somewhere "near the border", around 1826.
He emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1861, where he operated a farm.
He lived in Bally, PA, which is in the heart of Pennsylvania German country. A
dialect of German can still be heard in that area today, though, from what I have been told,
it is difficult for speakers of modern High German to understand. According to my Grandfather,
the Pennsylvania Albitzes spoke both High German and Pennsylvania German.
