Bernette Ann (Hansen) Albitz passed away on August 14, 2018 surrounded by her family and her neighbor Donna.

Bernette was born on November 15, 1940 to Alois and Evelyn (Schubert) Hansen. In April of 1969, she married Pat Albitz. They later divorced but remained friends until his passing 4 years ago. Together they had 2 children Kris of La Crosse and Mike (Jenny) of Chippewa Falls. She loved spending time her Grandchildren Eric Albitz and Katie & Alyssa Seiler (Steffan Hamby). She was also blessed to be here to be able to meet her Great Granddaughter Aspen.

Bernette’s entire life was devoted to helping others. She worked at many area hospitals, nursing homes and retired from Caring Hearts. She also lovingly cared for her inlaws Ed and Mabel Helgerson until their passing. She loved to watch the Brewers, Badgers and Packers with her family and friends at Glory Days Sports Pub. She loved to watch hummingbirds and enjoying an occasional brandy old fashioned. Bernette had a beautiful soul and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Bernette is survived by her kids and Grandkids, brothers, Tom (Terri) Hansen, Bob (Sandy) Hansen, Pete (Cheryl) Hansen, John Hansen and Mike Hansen, sister in law Phyllis Hansen, brother in law Tim (Brenda) Helgerson as well as many other friends and family. She was proceeded in death by her parents, inlaws, siblings Jerry Hansen, Bill Hansen, Pat Hansen, Jim Hansen, Dona Michel, Bonnie Tschumper, Mary Hofslien, and Betty Strong.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sadek, the staff at the Mayo Cancer Center, and the Mayo Hospice Team for all of their love, care and support throughout this battle. Also, thank you to the best neighbors and friends, Donna Russ Flower for helping us every step of the way.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 25th from 1-4pm at the Moose Lodge in La Crosse.
